Air pollution is the fastest growing protection gap in terms of insurance coverage for climate risks, a survey of Airmic members this week has revealed.

Originally published in 2019, in partnership with Aon plc, and updated in 2023, the Guide is designed as a resource for individuals currently serving as directors on captive boards, or considering an appointment in the future.

As businesses are ditching decades of forecasting habits in view of increased uncertainty and unpredictability globally, Airmic is releasing a new guide on scenario analysis for risk professionals. The guide was produced in collaboration with ORIC International and Barnett Waddingham.

Millennial and Generation Z members of Airmic are ready to embrace the promise of artificial intelligence (AI), contrary to fears of AI taking jobs away – according to Airmic’s latest Future of the Profession survey report, produced in association with WTW.

AI can help equip risk professionals to bring greater value to their organisations as strategic enablers. Moreover, as fears of ethical and other risks around AI grow, it will reinforce the need for human decision making and oversight, a role which risk professionals are well positioned to take up.
