55% OF RISK PROFESSIONALS SAY DIGITAL & IT SKILLS ARE THEIR TOP SKILLS GAP

8th April 2025

More than half of respondents in this week’s Airmic Big Question survey said digital and IT skills are their top skills gap. This comes as Airmic held its Spring fastTrack Forum last month, which explored how risk professionals can stay ahead in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world.

Julia Graham, CEO of Airmic, said: “We need to recognise the opportunities the future will present as well as the threats it will create. This means identifying the right skills that risk professionals need to navigate their organisations through an AI-enabled future. Providing reliable data and information for leaders is a key strategic requirement for the modern risk professional.

Airmic has launched its Risk Management Fundamentals (RMF) course, designed for those who have just entered the risk management profession or those in different professions, who would like to know more about understanding and managing risk. It is available to Airmic members and non-members from any sector or organisation.

Adam Ireland, Head of Learning at Airmic, said: “Airmic’s new, insightful and timely RMF course is designed to equip you and your organisation with the essential knowledge and skills to navigate the increasingly complex world of risk.
