Members wanted for thought leadership

Do you have experience in business continuity, setting risk appetite or risk management standards?

Airmic is calling on members to contribute to its enterprise risk management thought leadership by sharing their experience on subjects including business continuity, risk appetite and risk management information systems.

The association will be publishing four technical guides at its ERM Forum in November, and the advice from members will be used to shape the direction and content of the research. According to Airmic's technical director, Julia Graham, Airmic wants to ensure its thought leadership addresses the questions that are most important to its membership.

She said: "Our members collectively have a huge depth of knowledge and experience, and we want to channel this into our technical output. It doesn't matter if you have five years' experience or twenty five, we would love to hear from you."

The thought leadership series will include the following four reports.

  • Business continuity: Practical guidance on business continuity management and the role of the risk manager.
  • Risk management information systems: Advice on gathering, analysing and using information for managing risk. The report will look at the role of risk management information systems, and include the impact of Insurance Act and cyber risk developments.
  • Risk appetite: Addressing the need for deeper knowledge about the principles and application of risk appetite.
  • Risk management standards: A short guide summarising the importance and use of risk management standards.

The association is especially keen to hear from members with expertise in the relevant areas. The process will be informal, with participants asked about their views, experiences and challenges in the key areas. Any interested members should contact Julia Graham at julia.graham@airmic.com.
