Women in Insurance Awards: one month left to nominate

Despite the disruption caused by the pandemic, the Women in Insurance Awards have continued to build on the success of their first three years. There were more than 600 entries in 2021 and the organiser, Incisive Media, expects even more this year.

One of the top awards, risk professional of the year, is open to women working in a risk management, risk assessment or risk mitigation role the UK general insurance industry, whether for a business, public sector body, broker, insurer, consultancy or service provider. More than 20 other award categories cover the range of roles and services in the insurance industry.

There is a two-stage entry process. The first step is nomination. Anyone can nominate entrants for the awards. Women can also nominate themselves. As the second stage, the nominees are invited to put in a submission, which most do. “We feel this is an important part of the award’s success. Women are often reluctant to put themselves forward, frequently undervaluing their own achievements. By asking people to nominate potential entrants, we address that challenge,” says the organiser.

The current schedule for this year is as follows:

Deadline for nominations: Wednesday 27 April

Deadline for submissions: Friday 27 May

Awards ceremony: Tuesday 11 October
