Richard Cutcher, editor of Captive Review for the past four years, is to join Airmic next month to take up the key post of Research and Development Manager.

His role will include project management, responsibility for thought leadership reports and technical guides and overseeing research. He will also play an important part in knowledge management, developing and organising Airmic's digitised technical library.

A graduate of York University, Richard has had several journalist positions and has been with Pageant Media for the past five years.

"Richard is well known and respected by both risk managers and in the insurance market. His knowledge of insurance and wider risk management issues and his ability to distil and communicate complex subjects will make him a great asset to the team," said deputy CEO and technical director Julia Graham.

Richard said: "The opportunity to join Airmic and help shape its educational and technical output was an opportunity too good to allow pass me by. My time at Captive Review has given me excellent insight into the priorities and challenges facing risk managers in the United Kingdom and around the world, and I look forward to building on these existing relationships. Risk managers will play an increasingly important role at their organisations in the coming years and Airmic is well-equipped to support this progression."

His appointment reflects Airmic's continuing drive to support members with technical and other information targeted at meeting the needs of risk managers.
