Official conference website launching; registrations open 5 February

The official 2018 Airmic conference website will be live on Monday 5 February, and places will be open for booking, the association has announced. The three-day event will take place 11 to 13 June at The ACC in Liverpool.

In the first of a series of conference announcements, Airmic has confirmed that the award-winning BBC security correspondent, Frank Gardner OBE, will give the closing keynote speech. Mr Gardner has a long-held passion for the Arab world and regularly reports on Al Qaeda-related terrorism. His high-profile career as a journalist and author has been marked by his remarkable survival and recovery from being shot six times at close range by Al Qaeda terrorists.

Huw Edwards, BBC news anchor, will return to chair the much-anticipated Insurance Leadership Panel Debate on Tuesday. The panel will consist of high profile insurance executives, including:

  • Finlay Smith, chief underwriting officer, RSA
  • Patrick Tiernan, chief financial officer, Aviva
  • Vinicio Cellerini, head of commercial insurance UK, Zurich Insurance Plc
  • Vivek Banga, chief digital officer, Gallagher
  • Chris Johnson, executive vice president, FM Global

The conference programme is longer and fuller than ever before, including new events and extra workshops, details of which will be revealed in Airmic News over the coming months.

Stands in the exhibition hall went on sale last year and are very close to selling out. If you would like to enquire further, please contact susi.ozkurt@airmic.com.
