The 2019 Airmic conference will be bigger than ever. With tickets selling fast, Airmic's events manager, Susi Ozkurt, gives her top five reasons to join the largest gathering of risk professionals in the business calendar.
This is by far the most packed conference programme we've ever had. Two leadership debates, 36 workshops, three seminars, networking lunches and a keynote from news anchor Jon Snow to name a few. And it's not just the headline events - we have loads of 'other' fun, educational and even unusual offerings, be it the wellness sessions (yoga, Pilates and a 5k run), the Tech Hub and of course the Exhibition Hall.
I challenge anyone to come away from the conference without a better understanding of risk and insurance! The workshops are all designed to help our members bring new understanding and fresh ideas back to their office. And for those wanting to expand their knowledge even further, there is the Learning Hub - 20-minute fun and informative talks on a huge range of topics: social media, Brexit, dementia, captives and so much more.
Everyone at Airmic is hugely excited about our first ever Tech Hub - a cutting edge technology exhibition and your chance to discover and try out the latest technologies disrupting businesses and transforming risk management. On-site demos will include a flight simulator, a 360-degree security assessment, mobile and sensor based RFID solutions and the chance to speak to an intelligent chatbot!
Earlier this year, Airmic members took part in one of the most in-depth surveys of the risk profession. What are the biggest concerns of our members? How is the profession changing? Is the insurance market keeping pace? The results will be revealed in Harrogate, along with five detailed reports, and will inform the panel debates. They will be a must-read for any risk professional.
What a fantastic setting for our conference! If you get the chance in the busy conference schedule, it is definitely worth a wander through the historic Yorkshire town. The Valley Gardens are personal favourite of mine, but it's in the evening when the many Airmic parties get going that the town really has a buzz. Getting to Harrogate is easy as there are now two trains an hour.
There are still some spaces left at the conference. Tickets are £995 but are FREE for Airmic members as part of the membership package. Click here for more details about the event and to register.
