Next special interest group meeting to be held on 26 November

Preparation is paramount as the boardroom risk environment is set to become more complex, the inaugural meeting of Airmic's special interest group for company secretaries and general counsel heard last month.

Attended by twenty company secretaries, general counsel and others interested in corporate governance, there was lively debate about the growing challenges of director and officer responsibilities and liability trends.

Growing regional and global regulatory activity and the emergence of risks such as cyber, were two drivers of increased complexity, according to Noona Barker, AIG Europe's head of liabilities and financial lines claims, who addressed the meeting.

Airmic's newest special interest group now has forty members. The next meeting will be on 26 November 2019, hosted by Grant Thornton between 8.30am and 10.30am.
