Airmic launches Friday Reading List

There have been two instalments of the Airmic Friday Reading List since it was launched on 27 March, bringing knowledge content support to Airmic members and partners during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Friday Reading List, selected by Airmic from its Technical Library and COVID-19 resource site as well as other organisations, goes out by email to all members. It has included timely selections such as the critical Imperial College report, which has since informed the UK government’s strategy for dealing with the pandemic, as well as older pieces of research that have found new relevance in the current climate.

“There has been an overwhelming amount of material put out by the media and research organisations on the pandemic,” Hoe-Yeong Loke, Airmic’s Research Manager, says. “What Airmic has done is to curate relevant and impactful readings for the busy risk professional, especially publications that are not easily accessible.”

Depending on the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme members belong to, they can log CPD hours spent reading Airmic and trade publications, relevant research and reports. This can then be presented as evidence of CPD.

“The reception to the Friday Reading List has been very good so far, as we look to better serve risk professionals during these unprecedented times,” Hoe-Yeong adds.

The next instalment of the Friday Reading List will be released on 17 April.
