The opportunities and role for risk and insurance management in tackling the climate crises will be debated during a virtual Climate Change Forum, hosted by Airmic, on 9 December.

Supported by Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the Forum will be held from 9am - 3.30pm and include discussions on decarbonisation, reporting requirements and whether climate risks are quantifiable.

There will also be a (re)insurer’s perspective on whether climate change is making the world uninsurable and an interactive ‘Dragon’s Den’ session featuring ‘elevator pitches’ of technology solutions to support climate change risk.

“The Bank of England’s former governor Mark Carney has labelled climate change ‘the greatest commercial opportunity of our time’ and there is a role to play for all companies, including our members and insurers,” said Julia Graham, Airmic Deputy CEO and Technical Director.

“This Forum is an opportunity for Airmic members to engage in topic of huge relevance to their organisations and discuss the role risk and insurance professionals have to play in tackling and responding to the climate crises.
