Airmic has appointed Alexander Frost as its new market development manager, in a role that will see him work closely with the Association’s members and partners.

Alex has a background in political risk, and joins Airmic after ten years in global insurance at Axco Insurance Information Services in London.

He will work closely with the Airmic’s leadership to ensure partner and member value remains Airmic’s top priority.

Airmic CEO John Ludlow told Airmic News: “Alex is an excellent addition to the Airmic team, bringing with him great experience and insight into the challenging and complex environment our members and partners are grappling with today.”

When asked about his feelings on joining Airmic Alex responded:

I’m thrilled to have joined Airmic and to have a chance to work with so many dedicated risk professionals across a multitude of sectors. It’s just a shame I can’t meet more of them in person yet!

Like a lot of people else in our field, I did not plan on a career in risk and insurance, but rather fell into it. I developed a specialization in international relations at university, not business.  Once you realise, however, that all of life is risk you begin to see how risk management welcomes a diverse set of skills and its enormous and positive contribution.

I’ve spent my career to this point helping insurers understand international threats and building communities around topics such as climate change, terrorism and political violence. Bringing people together and pooling experience and resource is the biggest challenge we face in these truly revolutionary times.

I look forward to working with all our members and partners to navigate a way through a landscape of established and emerging risks, bringing people together to deliver the information, education and communication opportunities that are Airmic’s hallmarks.
