Airmic announces new courses for the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) qualification

Airmic is offering classroom-based training for risk professionals taking the new Associate in Risk Management (ARM) qualification launched last month by The Institutes.

Nine new full day courses will be available starting March 2020, and are designed to be taken in addition to using the training materials provided by The Institutes.

The courses will take place in Airmic’s new training room and cover all modules which make up the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) qualification. Classes will be led by Airmic-appointed expert trainers supported by senior risk management professionals.

The Institutes launched its new ARM qualification at Airmic’s ERM Forum in October. The new modules are more interactive, more focused on technology and analytics, and put greater emphasis on strategic risk management.

The nine courses offered by Airmic are as follows:

ARM Ethics Module and ARM Module 400

Course One: Ethical decision making, fundamental risk management concepts, risk management today

Course Two: Environment, culture, performance and process, risk governance and managing risk data

Course Three: Internal audit and control, compliance and resilience and examination

ARM Module 401

Course Four: Risk identification, risk analysis and risk modelling

Course Five: Hazard risk, big data, emerging risk and cyber risk 

Course Six: Social media risk, reputational risk and supply chain risk and examination

ARM module 402

Course Seven: Risk treatment basics, insurance and alternative risk financing   

Course Eight: Intellectual property risk, legal and regulatory risk

Course Nine: Operational risk, financial risk and strategic risk and examination
