Airmic 2020: Ruth Davidson to address collaboration, leadership and diversity

Ruth Davidson, former leader of the Scottish Conservatives, will deliver the keynote speech at the Airmic Conference in Edinburgh, in June.

Airmic 2020 - Leading in Risk, Working Together, will be held 8 - 10 June at the EICC Edinburgh. The conference website is live here.

Davidson transformed the Conservatives' electoral performances in Scotland during her eight-year leadership, delivering the party's greatest results north of the border in 35 years. As the first openly gay leader of a major political party in the UK, and the first party leader to give birth while in office, Ms Davidson has broken barriers throughout her time in public life.

"As one of the most high profile and respected British politicians of the past 10 years, we are very much looking forward to welcoming Ruth Davidson to Airmic 2020," John Ludlow, CEO of Airmic, said.

"Ruth will be able to share practical stories of successful leadership and embracing collaboration in some of the most high pressured environments."

In her keynote, to be delivered on the final day of the conference on Wednesday, 10 June, Ms Davidson will expand upon the conference theme of working together and how this resonates with diversity and inclusion.

Drawing on experience in business, current affairs and the media, she will be ideally placed to share the benefits, challenges and potential pitfalls when striving to build a collaborative environment.

Airmic's commitment to working together and a more collaborative approach to risk and insurance encourages internal collaboration between business functions and more cooperation between market competitors and customers to develop innovative solutions.

Registration for the Airmic annual conference will begin in February at the conference website.
