Airmic will be offsetting some of the carbon footprint of its annual conference in Birmingham this June with the planting of 375 baby hazel trees, the association has said. The trees will be planted in the Lickey Hills Country Park, just over 10 miles from the ICC conference centre.

Susi Ozkurt, Airmic's events manager, commented: "We are always conscious of the environmental impact of hosting such a large event so this is our way of doing something positive."

She added: "One of the hazel trees will be in the conference centre so do look out for it!"
