Airmic launches 2026 Internship Programme

Member organisations invited to host young professionals

Following the success of its internship partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts, Airmic is expanding the programme for 2026, inviting all partner and member organisations to consider participating in the scheme.

The internship programme aims to nurture the next generation of risk professionals by helping graduates and young professionals bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world practice. Internships can range from shorter placements to full year-long programmes.

While the host organisation retains control of the programme design and final candidate selection, Airmic streamlines the internship process by taking ownership of marketing and recruitment and offering learning and development support throughout the internship.

Airmic piloted a partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts last year. The 12-month internship offered to Nitesh Dokhe – one of Airmic’s student members – spanned various roles across risk and assurance including insurance compliance, risk finance, enterprise risk and resilience. IHG has confirmed it will be renewing the collaboration for 2026.

Dokhe, who is halfway through his internship, said the experience has been invaluable:

“It’s been a great opportunity to get a feel for the industry and work alongside experienced professionals in real situations. I’ve had more exposure to senior leaders than I expected, which has been a huge benefit.”

The company has encouraged him to bring fresh ideas and the latest academic perspectives to his work, including looking at how AI could be used more strategically in the company.

“Overall, the programme has been really valuable, giving me practical skills you just don’t get from academic study. I’d definitely recommend it to both interns and companies,” he said.

Organisations can find out more about the internships here and they have until May 7 to register their interest.
