With just five weeks to go until the annual conference, registrations are now live and momentum is building for #Airmic2026.
Over 2000 risk and insurance professionals will head to Birmingham on the 15-17th June for three days of learning, networking and a world-class speaker line up, including AI expert Dr Keith Dear and group CEO of Swiss Re, Andreas Berger.
Against a backdrop of an intensifying and complex global risk landscape, this year’s conference theme, Back to Basics, puts the fundamentals of risk and insurance in the spotlight.
As Diane Maxwell, Airmic’s CEO, said in her opening editorial: “The risk landscape is presenting a perfect storm of rapidly evolving risks, many of which would have been on the distant horizon five years ago but are now firmly ‘in the room’ and on the agenda.
“As the world becomes more complex, we are reflecting on the value of simplicity and clarity.”
NEW to the conference this year!
Following feedback from members, Airmic is introducing a range of new, fun and thought-proving events. Look out for the Confessions of a Risk Manager seminar as well as the Members vs The Market University Challenge – and more to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Liverpool to become permanent home for future Airmic conferences
From 2027, all Airmic annual conferences will be held at the Liverpool ACC, Airmic has announced.
The change comes in response to member feedback and will bring consistency for exhibitors while streamlining Airmic’s conference planning cycle.
“We’ve listened to members and partners and responded,” said Diane Maxwell, CEO. “The Liverpool ACC is very popular among the risk community and having a fixed location will allow our events team to deliver even better conferences in the future.”
Airmic delegates prepare for inaugural Sock Competition
Meanwhile, risk and insurance professionals around the UK and Ireland are gearing up for Airmic’s first official sock competition at its Birmingham conference.
In response to a well-documented rise in colourful and unusual socks at business events, a panel of esteemed professionals will be awarding a prize for the best socks, Airmic announced this month. There will also be a prize for the best explanation for the current sock phenomenon.
“We are very excited to be taking the current sock trend to the next level with our inaugural competition,” said an Airmic spokesperson. “We have a world-class judging panel that are highly qualified in sock aesthetics. We will release more details in due course”
Reports of a run on colourful socks could not be verified at the time of going to press.
The conference is free to Airmic members. The full programme and registration details can be found here.
