Initiative will inject fresh perspectives and new ideas

Airmic is empowering the next generation of leaders in risk management with the appointment of its first ever Shadow Board, comprised of a group of five rising stars from its membership.

The Shadow Board will represent the voice of younger generations of Airmic members to the Association’s main Board of Directors. Airmic’s chief executive, Julia Graham, said the benefits of this initiative run in two directions:

“First, we want to ensure our younger generations feel they have a voice and that Airmic represents their needs as well as that of our more senior membership.

“But second, the Shadow Board’s contribution to our existing Board will inject fresh perspectives and new ideas that will benefit the entire Association. Diversity of perspective is key for achieving a successful and vibrant leadership team.”

The Shadow Board members, announced at Airmic’s AGM, are:

  • Taiwo Omo-Ikerodah (Chair), Enterprise Risk Account Manager, Network Rail;
  • Penelope Craine, Senior Insurance Manager, London Stock Exchange Group:
  • Arantza Moleres, Head of Group Insurance, IHS Towers;
  • Latitia Boglebrown, Enterprise Risk and Analytics Manager, DLA Piper;
  • Sarah Azarmgin, Associate Director Enterprise Risk Management, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners;
  • Isaac Wheatley, Senior Business Continuity and Resilience Analyst, Senior Business Continuity and Resilience Analyst;
  • Susan Young (representative from Airmic’s Board of Directors), director, Priory Way Consulting

The chair of the Shadow Board, Taiwo Omo-Ikerodah, said she’s excited to make a difference and help define and shape the direction of the profession.

“The future of the risk management profession is changing very quickly, with technological developments, AI, and a whole range of risks emerging that didn’t exist a few decades ago.

“Our profession will look very different in ten years’ time so it’s really important that younger generations get their voice heard and I’m really excited to help make that happen. It’s a real honour to be the first Chair and have the chance to contribute to the wider conversation.”
