With a new format and a new editor – we welcome Jessica Titherington who re-joins Airmic following her return to the UK with her family.
Excitement is mounting in the build-up to Airmic’s annual conference, as we look forward to welcoming over 2,000 delegates to the wonderful city of Liverpool! Our conference programme is rich in learning and networking, with our biggest exhibition to date.
The global backdrop to our conference is complex – but full of opportunity for risk professionals. It’s in challenging times of uncertainty when Airmic members can add the greatest value to their organisations. Taking an agile and strategic approach to managing risk is vital: and we must ensure that risk profiles are well articulated, understood and aligned with the organisation’s purpose, objectives, culture, maturity and resources.
This context has helped to energise the investment of our members in captives and other alternative risk financing solutions. It was back in November 2024 that HM Treasury released a Consultation on Captive Insurance. We’re still waiting for the white smoke to emerge from the Treasury chimney – but we are receiving positive signals from the Bank of England who are now in the process of planning as we await an official announcement.
Our conference theme is Another World is Possible. Whether you prefer the thrill of the roller coaster or the calmer ride of a carousel, this is not the time to step back and watch the world spinning around you. Take the opportunities and let’s all step into Another World, together.
See you in Liverpool!
