Airmic board member Fiona Davidge has won the BSI award for International Standards Maker.

The award recognises an exceptional contribution to representing, championing and safe-guarding the UK committee's position in European or international standards-making.

According to BSI, Ms Davidge won her award for contributing "above and beyond expectations" in the widely used global standards for risk management, principles and guidelines – ISO 31000.

Ms Davidge, enterprise risk manager at medical research charity Wellcome Trust, said she was delighted to win the award. "I was surprised and touched to be shortlisted for this award.

The ceremony was really enjoyable, it was fascinating to hear the biographies of the other winners: a real mixed bag of experience and it made me feel really proud that my work had been pulled out for mention."

The BSI is the national standards body of the United Kingdom and produces technical standards on a wide range of products and services.
