Is there anyone out there who feels they could help Airmic develop its risk leadership position? The post of Research and Development Manager remains vacant after the previous incumbent Katie Moore took a top risk job at a FTSE 100 company.
Airmic has already interviewed several people for the position. Although there were some strong candidates, none was appointed. Anyone interested in learning more should contact technical director Julia Graham, julia.graham@airmic.com.
This is a job for someone who combines an understanding of risk with good communication skills and a willingness to develop and test new ideas. Katie is now Group Risk Manager at Vodafone and, of course, an Airmic member.
“Not only has my time at Airmic given me great experience in all areas of our profession and a brilliant network, it’s been a lot of fun”, she says. “The chance to work with the FRC, Cabinet Office and British Standards Institution also made me realise how big a difference Airmic can make to our profession.”
Whoever takes the job will be working at the hub of the risk management and insurance-buying world as part of a small, highly effective team. Among events to look forward to is the new ERM Forum in November, as Airmic seeks to take understanding of risk to a new level, whilst giving its members new job opportunities.
“Risk is high on the agenda of UK boards, and one of our priorities is to take advantage of the new opportunities to get our messages across. The Research and Development Manager will have a vital role in this exciting development,” said Chief executive John Hurrell.
