fastTrackers invited to become a broker for the day

Members of Airmic’s fastTrack initiative are being invited to step into the shoes of a broker during the first-of-its-kind, two-day training event hosted by Marsh.

The programme, Demystifying the Broker, will shed light on the role of the broker and develop delegates’ knowledge of the renewal process, implications of acquisitions, programme design and claims handling. Using case studies, group exercises and presentations, the course aims to help fastTrackers experience the insurance negotiation process from the broker perspective.

The programme, which will include a drinks reception with peers at Marsh, will finish with participants undertaking their own market presentation to deliver the best deal for their ‘client’.

Charles Beresford-Davies, managing director, UK & Ireland Risk Management Practice, Marsh Ltd, said that he is “delighted” to be working with Airmic. “Collaboration is crucial in risk management; this is a fantastic opportunity for fastTrack members to understand more about the world of broking and to develop their understanding of the industry further.”

The event will take place on 11 and 12 November and registration will be open to fastTrack members from 1 September. An overview of the main sessions can be seen in the box below; for more information contact georgina.wainwright@airmic.com.

fastTrack is an Airmic initiative launched in January 2014 to educate and engage with members new to the risk management and insurance buying profession.
