The Airmic conference in Birmingham is heading for record numbers, with registrations from members and non-members alike both ahead of any previous year. The organisers, meanwhile, have finalised details of the programme of seminars for Day Three of the event, with several highly topical themes.
Attendance at Airmic annual conferences has been rising steadily since 2003, especially among members, reaching 883 for the 2013 Brighton event. This makes it by far the largest risk management gathering in the UK.
The total applying to come to Birmingham is bigger than for the same stage of any previous year, and appears to be gathering pace. “After a slightly slow start, we have been inundated with applications,” said Event Marketing Manager Susi Ozkurt speaking shortly after Easter. “I’ve just had 25 registrations come in this morning.”
“I am delighted. As I never tire of pointing out, the great thing about the Airmic conference is the opportunity to meet people with similar professional interests. The more people we get, the more valuable the occasion,” said chief executive John Hurrell.
The exhibition has been expanded to its biggest ever. Stand space sold out within a week.
