Annual conference gets off to a flyer

Exhibition space at the Airmic annual conference, to be held in Brighton next year, is selling exceptionally fast, with 72 slots taken within two weeks of becoming available.

To put that into context, until this year’s event the number of stand spaces already allocated would have made 2013 the biggest Airmic conference exhibition ever.

Demand is driven by those who exhibited last year renewing their positions. One marketing manager told Airmic News: “2012 was the first time we exhibited at Airmic. Getting approval to do so internally involved a lot of agonising and meetings. However, when it came to 2013 we just signed on the dotted line. Now that we’ve tried it once, we cannot even contemplate not being there.”

“The exhibition has grown its presence and become a central attraction for delegates to the Airmic conference,” said organiser Susi Ozkurt. “Members tell us they get real value from visiting the stands, and this obviously makes it worthwhile for companies to be there.”

Campbell, Hilton booked

Tony Blair’s controversial former press chief Alistair Campbell is among the speakers already booked to take part, whilst the Evening Standard financial editor Anthony Hilton will once again chair the insurance forum. The full programme will be unveiled early in the New Year.

The annual conference returns to the Brighton Centre in 2013. The venue as been extensively modernised, refurbished and redesigned since the association last held an event there in 2006.

Another record attendance?

After ten years of uninterrupted growth in attendance, Airmic will be hoping for another record turn-out in 2013. The conference is already established as by far the biggest gathering for risk managers and insurance buyers in the UK.
