The Aviation SIG will be meeting on Friday, 6 May from 3-4.30pm where they will plot the course of 2022 and beyond.

Joe Tunstall, Senior Risk Manager & Head of Insurance at easyJet, is also co-chair of the Aviation SIG. He said the meeting will an opportunity for members to discuss and decide what topics they want to address over the next 18 months.

“We want the SIG to work for the members, so we’re giving them the chance to shape the agenda,” Tunstall told Airmic News.

He expects hot topics to include Ukraine and cyber, and a debate about whether aviation insurance regulations help or hinder the industry.

On Tuesday, 10 May the Water & Utilities SIG will be meeting 11am-1pm to discuss flood risk management, and on Friday, 13 May the Retail SIG is meeting at 11am-12.15pm.

The Geopolitical Risk SIG will discussing the Ukraine Crisis and the wider implication for business on Thursday, 19 May from 11am-12.15pm.

Explaining why he valued being part of a special interest group, Tunstall said: “The meetings provide a great opportunity to learn from others sense check my own understanding of certain challenges of topics.

“It also gives us the chance to raise issues to gain support from the wider membership and lobby stakeholders for change.”
