First, a big thank you to those who joined our annual conference this year. It was incredible to welcome over 2,000 delegates to Liverpool. The atmosphere in the exhibition hall was electric!
Our conference is an opportunity to create memories, build relationships, develop and enhance professional capabilities, and provides a platform for doing business. However, when you invest time and budget to attend any Airmic event we must make your investment feel worthwhile and leave you a sense of value and a desire to return to our events in the future.
A strapline to the conference was Don’t just watch the world spin. Please don’t be a bystander now the event is over. Please complete our request for feedback – this takes just a few minutes and we do listen to what you say. Help to make Birmingham in 2026 an even more fabulous event!
Throughout the conference there were as many questions as answers about tariffs, climate volatility, regulatory shifts, and the macroeconomic and geopolitical landscape. Uncertainty was debated and no longer viewed as an exception but as the new status quo. But leaning into uncertainty can allow the best ideas to surface, encourage collaboration, and authentic leadership to emerge. Leadership is less about having the right answer and more about asking the right question.
While traditional management models emphasise control and confidence, this is a time when organisations should be stepping up their commitment to risk management as those that can find ways to develop a path to future growth can seize a competitive advantage that outlasts times of uncertainty. Rise up risk professionals, you have an important role to play.
