Former journalists Francesca Capitelli and Jessica Titherington join as Airmic grows its digital capability.

Airmic is excited to announce that Francesca Capitelli will be joining Airmic in June as its marketing manager, and Jessica Titherington has joined as editor of Airmic News.

Italian-born Francesca began her career on the European desk of an Italian newspaper before joining the European Central Bank in 2020. From there, she moved into the risk and insurance sector, heading up communications and marketing at FERMA, the Federation of European Risk Management Associations.

Francesca says she can’t wait to get started: “I’m really looking forward to working closely with the Airmic team and supporting their digital marketing push.”

Born and raised in Modena, Italy, Francesca has since worked in Italy, Germany and Belgium and will now be relocating to the UK.

She has a particular strength for digital marketing: “I have a knack for getting the most out of every tool or platform I use, whether it’s for marketing, design or anything else. Staying curious and experimenting is one of the most exciting parts of the job for me.”

Jessica is a former London-based insurance journalist and a PR and marketing consultant. She has spent her 17-year communications career in financial services and specialises in risk and insurance. She is well-known to the Airmic community, having advised Airmic on its PR and marketing strategy for five years until 2020.

“The Airmic community has an amazing breadth and depth of knowledge so it’s a fantastic place to work as an editor,” she says. “It’s so important that risk professionals have a collective voice, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team that will make sure it is heard, loud and clear. We have some exciting changes to Airmic News planned for next year, so watch this space!”

Francesca and Jessica will work closely with Leigh-Anne Slade, Airmic’s head of media, communications and interest groups. Leigh-Anne says she was really looking forward to working together:

“Their impressive experience in digital marketing, international communications and risk and insurance will be valuable assets as we continue to drive our communications strategy forward.”
