Matthew McEwan, Director of Risk Management at Coca Cola Enterprises, won the Captive Professional of the Year Awards at a ceremony in London last month.
The judges cited his “clear and passionate commitment to the world of captive insurance for almost 20 years”.
“His contribution to the industry,” they said, “goes far beyond his day job, offering his time and expertise to speak and lead discussions at Captive conferences around Europe.”
McEwan has long been an active Airmic member, and spoke recently in a panel discussion at the fastTrack seminar about wider risk issues.
The award was made at a summit organised by Captive Review magazine and attended by 55 captive owners. Vodafone’s Phil Clark and BT’s Tracey Skinner were among the Airmic members who were Discussion Leaders, as was technical director Julia Graham, who picked up an individual achievement award.
