Published on Tue, 05/05/2015 - 23:00

Airmic has released the details of its five conference seminars, on topics ranging from reputational risk to the changing role of the risk manager.

The seminars are designed to showcase some of Airmic’s most recent research and give members a chance to feedback their views, share ideas and discuss best practice. The seminars are interactive sessions and will be held on Wednesday 17 June at 10.15. Delegates can visit the conference website to register for any seminar.

Details of the seminars are below:

S1: The fastTrack surgery

fastTrack presents a roundtable event where Airmic’s delegates with less than five years’ experience in the industry can discuss and pose questions to senior members and market representatives in a comfortable and open environment. Delegates can choose the following roundtables:

  • Careers and development
  • Understanding ERM
  • Insurance placement and disclosure
  • Claims

Hosted by: Airmic Members

S2: The changing role of the risk manager

Boards are continuing to increase their focus on risk management for many reasons, from updated corporate governance requirements to increased transparency on how businesses operate. It is increasingly recognised that risk managers are becoming more critical to business success. This panel will discuss ‘tomorrow’s risk leaders’, including the skills and attribute necessary to become a risk leader, as well as the tools available to risk managers to elevate their profile.

Hosted by: PwC, KornFerry and Airmic Members

S3: Identifying and managing business-critical insurances

Not all insurances are the same. Whilst some insurances are optional others underpin the operation of the business and, if they were to fail, can have serious consequences in terms of cash flow, rating and financial covenants. PwC will present metrics to help identify these insurances and discuss the steps Airmic members should take to ensure they work as expected.

 Hosted by: PwC and Mactavish

S4: Reputational risk: A risk management framework

Reputational risk is one of the biggest concerns of senior management and risk managers alike. The Reputation Institute will present their framework for understanding and managing the reputation risk within an organisation, and highlighting where reputation can be tracked financially. Insurance market representatives will discuss the possibilities for providing insurance cover for this notoriously tricky risk.

Hosted by: Reputation Institute

S5: The in-house claims function: Achieving best practice

Airmic members will be joined by RSA and Aon to discuss the eight elements of best practice in claims handling and will provide practical tips and suggestions on how these can be implemented in-house.
