Mark Baylis, Airmic’s media consultant since February 2003, is stepping aside at the start of August. Although he will still have a support role, he is being replaced by Jessica Titherington.
Baylis announced his departure to more than 20 journalists at the annual conference news briefing. He paid tribute to both the quality and breadth of the insurance and risk management media. He estimates that, in his time, there have been well over a million words written about Airmic conferences. Yet he cannot recall a single serious inaccuracy. He also praised the role played by the association, both on behalf its members and in the market.
John Hurrell added 'Mark has been a superb supporter of Airmic in his capacity as media consultant for over a decade. Over that time, Mark has developed outstanding relationships with all sections of the press, inside and outside of the insurance sector reflecting Airmic's increasing role in the wider field of risk management. He will be greatly missed but we are fortunate indeed to have secured the services of Jessica Titherington who will join us in August.'
