The editor of StrategicRISK Kin Ly is to take up the position of research and development manager at Airmic. She replaces Katie Moore, who left for a senior job in industry. She will work alongside Georgina Wainwright, reporting to deputy chief executive and technical director Julia Graham.

As well as being responsible for leading StrategicRISK’s editorial output in print and online, Kin has produced a number of special reports, supplements and sponsored thought leadership papers on insurance and risk management matters. Each supplement uncovers new techniques in managing complex risk or scopes out new trends and challenges for risk and insurance professionals.

Her most recent projects have included a paper on the Future of Risk and Insurance; a guide to the biggest risks and latest innovation in the manufacturing sector, and a briefing paper on cloud computing risks.

Although these are early days – she only arrives in July – Kin has already been earmarked to work on a guide to cultural behaviour and a possible successor to Roads to Ruin and Roads to Resilience. She will also work with some of Airmic’s committees, helping them to identify and explore new opportunities.

Kin says she was “thrilled” when offered the job and sees it as a “fantastic opportunity to work at the centre of the risk world and contribute to new ideas and ways of looking at the subject.”

Julia Graham described Kin as “a great hire”. “I have watched Kin her for the past couple of years and have been impressed by her understanding of risk and her ability to come up with fresh, incisive thinking. I am sure she will have a great impact on our work,” she said.
