The comedienne Jo Brand has apologised “profusely” to Airmic for her failure to appear at the annual dinner despite having been booked months in advance. In an email, she said she was “incredibly stressed” and had forgotten to look at her diary. Her non-appearance was the only dampener on an otherwise hugely successful event. Airmic has donated her £12500 fee to the chairman’s charity Vital Regeneration.
The 50th anniversary dinner attracted a record of nearly 900 guests, reinforcing its status as one of the London market’s premier networking events.

Message from the Chairman
I would like to say a big thank you to all of you who attended the 50th Anniversary Airmic dinner for your incredible generosity in donating to my chosen charity Vital Regeneration. The collection on the night raised £6,410 which is a record for the event.
Also, prompted by the suggestion of many of you, the guest speaker fee will also be donated to the charity. This added bonus almost trebles the total raised and will help fund Vital’s important work which includes providing learning and employment opportunities for young people from deprived families living in Central London.
Very many thanks for your great support and I hope you all had a fantastic time on the night.
Best wishes,
Chris.
