A high-profile professional development programme for fastTrack members has proved extremely popular. The two-day event hosted by Lloyd’s will offer delegates the chance to network and meet senior members of Lloyd’s, including attending a lunch hosted by chief executive Inga Beale.
The programme, due to take place in February next year, is designed to give delegates a unique insight into the Lloyd’s market and to discuss issues that are important and topical to risk management.
The programme has been an instant hit with the event fully subscribed within days of the details being released. Due to its popularity, Airmic hopes to repeat the event the following year.
“I’m really pleased with the response we’ve had,” said fastTrack chair Kate Wallin. “What is so good about this event is the practical experience it gives delegates – something that it really important for the next generation of risk managers. It will be more than just a workshop – it will give a real day-in-the-life insight into Lloyd’s from a very high calibre programme of speakers.”
As well as attending a range of round tables, Q&A sessions and seminars, each delegate will spend time shadowing either a Lloyd’s broker or an underwriter at the box. In addition to lunch with Beale, other highlights of the programme include a presentation by Lloyd’s chairman John Nelson, and a networking drinks reception hosted by Lloyd’s, the LMA and Airmic.
Keith Stern, Lloyd’s regional manager for UK and Ireland, commented: “We are delighted to launch this programme. We will provide a mix of practical and interactive sessions which will give delegates a good understanding of the workings of the Lloyd’s market and the tools to access the network of over 200 Lloyd’s brokers.”
The event is aimed at people with three to five years risk management experience, although all Airmic members are welcome, and will be held at the Lloyd’s building on 18 and 19 February.
