Airmic’s fastTrack initiative will be hosting its first fastTrack surgery at the annual conference in Liverpool this year.

The session will involve a series of roundtables on enterprise risk management and control, career development, claims, and insurance law and the principles of disclosure. It will give delegates the chance to listen, debate and ask questions in an informal environment.

The roundtables on insurance law and risk management and control will be chaired by Airmic sponsors Herbert Smith Freehills and Marsh respectively. The discussions on careers and claims will be chaired by Airmic members from Intercontinental Hotels Group and BAM Construct.

Georgina Wainwright, research and development manager at Airmic, who has been closely involved with fastTrack since its inception, said she’d encourage all those new to the industry to sign up. “This is the only event at the conference dedicated to Airmic’s newest members so it will be a great way to meet other people at a similar stage in their career,” she said.

“Big conferences can be intimidating for some of our younger members in particular, so we hope this session will give them the opportunity to learn and ask questions in a friendly environment.”

The surgery will take place on Wednesday 17 June at 10.15. fastTrack members and anyone new to the risk management and insurance industry are welcome to attend. Delegates can visit the conference website to register.

fastTrack was launched in January 2014 to engage with members new to the risk management industry. It has grown from strength-to-strength in its first 18 months, and now has a well-established training programme as well as its own dedicated conference.
