fastTrack has announced the appointment of its first deputy chair. Pam Joshi, insurable risk manager at Tesco and a founding member of the fastTrack scheme, will take the position with immediate effect.
Following in the tradition of the Airmic annual conferences, Joshi will take over as chair of fastTrack from Kate Wallin at fastTrack’s inaugural conference in February next year. The one-day event was announced in this month’s edition of Airmic News.
“I am delighted to be appointed deputy chair,” Joshi said. “fastTrack is a fantastic initiative and Kate has built a very strong foundation from which to build on.”
The appointment of a deputy chair reflects the rapid development of the scheme. Joshi added: “People are talking about fastTrack and are intrigued to know what it has to offer and I am really looking forward to continuing the strong momentum.”
Wallin helped launch fastTrack in January this year, in response to a perceived need to engage younger and less experienced Airmic members. It has since grown from strength-to-strength, with almost 200 active members.
Wallin commented, “I am very pleased to be welcoming Pam onto the fastTrack committee. It is great to have someone that’s been involved since the beginning. She has been a huge support to fastTrack, and I’m confident she will do an excellent job in continuing its success when she takes over as chair.”
Wallin will remain involved in the scheme, through her capacity on the Airmic board and as a member of the learning and development committee.
