Airmic to form new focus groups

Airmic will be launching a series of new focus groups throughout 2015 in response to demand from members, it was announced by the association’s chair, Helen-Clare Pope, at the Airmic Dinner in December.

The groups cover claims, cyber and business interruption, and will run alongside Airmic’s already-established special interest groups. The focus groups will look at issues that have surfaced through member discussions and surveys, and will be formed of a combination of Airmic members and market representatives. Airmic already has focus groups for captives and travel issues, which have been running successfully for four years.

Groups will “kick off” with a roundtable discussion between members and relevant Airmic partners, during which they will consider the main concerns and agree objectives on how the group and Airmic can address those issues. The claims group has already held its roundtable and aims to be fully up and running early this year.

Pope also announced plans to establish an Advisory Board made up of many of Airmic’s most senior members to recognise the needs of corporate leaders and senior risk managers and to help Airmic to achieve its objectives.
