The recruit will report to technical director Paul Hopkin, who has already overseen a dramatic increase in output over the past couple of years.

The current technical agenda has seventeen projects coming to fruition during 2014, including the publication of Roads to Resilience, a guide to insurance efficacy, the delivery of a global compliance database for insurance programmes, career development advice for risk managers and the biennial salary and status survey.

The arrival of a new person should facilitate further activity, including additional training programmes for members and more risk management research projects.

“This appointment gives shape to our often-stated goal of finding new ways to serve our members and improve understanding of insurance and risk management,” said chief executive John Hurrell.
