Becoming and Being a Member of Airmic
Airmic has grown, since its formation in 1963, to become the UK’s largest and most vibrant risk management association. We have expanded through welcoming not only those in the risk and insurance professions, but also those from other risk-related roles including company secretaries, human resource professionals, security and information specialists, business continuity practitioners, facilities managers, company directors, heads of procurement, and top academics and students from some of the UK’s leading universities.
As such, we are in a strong position to represent the views of our members and advocate for their needs within both industry and government.
Members enjoy a wide variety of networking opportunities, community groups, and publications all supported by an expanding technical and research library featuring work by some of the risk profession’s brightest thought leaders. This not only helps our members grow their knowledge and apply the skills required for today and tomorrow, but is also a great way to continue professional development through access to over 400 continuous professional development hours across the year.
The Airmic annual conference, which was the first large scale physical risk and insurance event to return in 2021, featured a unique and exciting line up of thought leaders from business, academia and the public sector, supported by an extensive exhibition. In 2022 our conference will see delegates network, learn and build business relationships over three days in June in Liverpool, as we explore the theme of Moving Forward Together, into an uncertain world. The annual conference is supported by an events programme of topical and thematic one day conferences and forums on topics such as captives, enterprise risk management, climate change, and technology in London, and in October 2022, our first ever event on the Island of Ireland.
