Insurance is a key asset of any organisation and yet the key contractual document between an insured and insurer is often not reviewed in any detail at the placement stage.  This session will explain how to review an insurance policy effectively in light of how it will be construed legally, as well as identifying specific issues you should have top of mind in undertaking any review.  It is those policyholders who invest time at the placement stage who can enjoy material benefits when a claim arises and avoid wordings becoming a risk rather than the control they are intended to be. 

By the end of the session, you will be able to:

Understand how to read your policy most effectively and how it will be construed by a Court in any dispute

Identify what different terms mean and the impact any breach will have

Understand how certain clauses interact with the provisions the Insurance Act 2015

Explain the impact different words can have on aggregation provisions and identify how these need to match your business exposures

Ensure the Dispute Resolution provisions are fit for purpose
