The World Economic Forum (WEF) released its 2024 Global Risks Report in January.

Misinformation and Disinformation have risen through the list of top risks over the two-year short term, in a watershed year packed with elections around the world that are being threatened by artificial intelligence-induced means.

This brings the risk of expanded social and political instability to a world already riven by the conflict.

Misinformation and Disinformation have not previously featured on the top ten list of risks in this annual report.

Airmic and its members have followed the WEF report closely over the years as one key source of indicators for the risks to expect in the upcoming year and beyond.

Richard Smith-Bingham, Executive Director of Marsh McLennan Advantage who was directly engaged in the production of the report, will explore the findings of the 2024 report.
