The 2020 outlook: trends, drivers and patterns of uncertainty

3rd December 2019 18:00 – 21:30

Airmic and Ankura are delighted to invite senior Airmic members and our friends across the industry to join us for an exclusive evening of dinner, drinks and conversation that will wrap up the year and reflect on the geopolitical challenges facing risk managers ahead.

We will be joined by Michelle Digrutollo, Former White House intelligence briefer and army combat veteran.

Michelle is an Army intelligence veteran with over 20 years’ experience in the U.S. intelligence community, primarily in military and geopolitical risk analysis and production, and senior executive level. While still in uniform, Michelle served in various senior intelligence roles at the Defence Intelligence Agency. Her careers highlights include delivering daily intelligence briefs directly to President Barack Obama, development of counter-terrorism products for the Pentagon and collection of wartime intelligence for the Director of Intelligence in Afghanistan.

Michelle will provide an overview of the defining elements of geopolitics that will shape the World in 2020 before looking at how businesses will need to prepare and realign strategies to effectively navigate these uncharted waters. In addition to this, Michelle will focus on the five major drivers shaping future digital conflicts in geopolitics:

  1. The changing nature and requirements of cyber-security infrastructure and solutions
  2. Increasing resilience on a fluid cyber battlefield
  3. Outlook for the future of cyber crime
  4. Building international cyber-security alliances, partnerships and capacity
  5. The role of third-party states in cyber security
