With the introduction of the Online Safety Bill, the UK has indicated its intention to become the “safest place in the world to be online” through the regulation of social media and the creation of a brand new statutory duty of care to protect platform users from various categories of online harms.

This session will give you an insight into the background to this new legislation, a map of the current landscape, an insight into what the ‘new normal’ may eventually look like along with related risks and regulatory penalties and practical advice on how to begin to plan for and manage the risk of online harms going forward.
