The Employment Rights Bill will bring forward 28 individual employment reforms, which will give significant new rights and protections to employees and workers.
In this session we will explore several reforms including;
-
Reforms relating to the termination of employment and specifically the day one right in unfair dismissal protection, the ‘Fire and re-hire’ restrictions and the collective consultation redundancy requirements.
-
Reforms relating to Diversity and Inclusion including strengthened harassment protections, enhanced parental rights and plans to make flexible working the default where practicable.
-
Reforms relating to zero/low hours contracts and agency workers including the right to be offered guaranteed hours and compensation for cancellation.
-
Reforms relating to trade unions including greater rights of access to unions and simplifying the trade union recognition process.
Participants of the session will gain an understanding of the above reforms and the impact that those reforms are likely to have in practice.
Finally, we will discuss what will happen next, including when various changes are likely to take place.
