The session will explore resilience on two levels:
i) The here and now - looking at incident response planning, incident (or ‘crisis’) recovery and business continuity planning, the differences between these, and communications needed for each.
ii) For the future - looking at longer-term sustainability including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, how these contribute to organisational resilience, and how to use existing risk management approaches to address ESG risks.
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
Assess whether your own, incident response, recovery, and business continuity plans are adequately scoped, detailed, and communicated
Understand whether those plans are adequately understood and stress-tested and if not, promote appropriate risk-based testing within your organisation.
Identify relevant ESG factors to your interests, understand how they can impact on resilience, and what goals might be set for each
How you can use existing risk management approaches and frameworks to address your ESG risks rather than reinventing the wheel.
Explain to stakeholders in no-jargon terms, the importance of addressing both short and long-term resilience.
