The session will focus on how Enterprise Risk Management approaches can be improved from the immediate lessons learnt as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following will be used as a structure to the session

  • Ongoing risks vs. major shocks. Which will cover how to identify risks that have the potential to fall outside a curve of expected losses, how to decide if these have an influence on future viability and how risk financing can help to mitigate the risk.
  • Rear-view mirror vs. scenario planning. How to ensure that risk assessments are forward looking (but remain informed by the past)
  • Interconnectivity of key risks. How to visualise and structure risk information to assist forward looking risk assessments
