The Role

Reporting to the General Secretary, the insurance manager has primary responsibility for the management of insurance contracts and issues for the whole group. He or she supports internal project teams and the executive committee on issues of general corporate insurance (P&C, liabilities, employee benefits). Demonstrating a high level of autonomy and initiative, he or she is the internal point of contact and expertise on all insurance-related issues, and acts as interface with internal and external stakeholders.

His or her main activities include:

  • Gathering and compiling underwriting documents for each new project
  • Monitoring and update of insured values
  • Driving of brokers’ and auditors’ work
  • Organising and maintaining a system of document management (certificates, contracts,
  • endorsements, audit reports, etc.) and their distribution to the relevant internal or external
  • stakeholders
  • Maintaining and updating internal management tools (intranet, monitoring of contract and claims, etc.)
  • Acting as internal consultant with project teams, subsidiary and group
  • Defining insurance clauses in project contracts (financing documentation, construction, operation) and ensuring insurance contracts’ compliance with contractual obligations
  • Monitoring and renewal of all corporate and employee benefits contracts (at both group and subsidiary level), while anticipating future needs linked to the group’s rate of growth
  • Monitoring total cost of insurable risk to keep it under control
  • Treating specific guarantee requests
  • Monitoring claims and taking an active part in their satisfactory resolution

Localisation

The role is based in Paris (France). Some level of mobility may be required for international matters.

Successful Applicant

  • Master’s degree in insurance or law
  • 5 to 8 years professional experience with a broker, and insurer, or a client
  • Knowledge and experience of the main lines of renewable energy project insurance: construction, liability, operation, marine cargo
  • Good general knowledge of corporate insurance lines
  • Understanding of business stakes linked to insurance issues in the energy sector
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and IT tools
  • Strong capacity to interact as a business partner within The company (with project managers, EPC PM, asset managers, lawyers, financiers and internal control personnel)
  • Experience of working in an international and multicultural environment
  • Ability to write and communicate fluently in French and English is a must
  • Ability to build and develop a network (brokers, insurers, auditors, etc.)
  • Ability to carry out negotiations successfully
  • Autonomy
