Risk and Compliance Analyst

The Position:

As Risk and Compliance Analyst, reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance in a newly formed team, you will support and drive risk and compliance initiatives to help enhance and enforce regulatory compliance at DPR. You will be responsible for supporting DPR risk assessments, working closely with senior stakeholders within the business to help develop and support the implementation of appropriate risk treatment plans, control strategies and frameworks. This is to ensure that the business is effectively managing its risks in a consistent manner. 

An entrepreneurial spirit is essential for this role as this will be a hands on position. 

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To support the implementation of an Enterprise Risk Management framework across the Company, working closely with managers in a range of functions.
  • Raising awareness of Risk within the business including: Corporate Risk Profile; Risk Appetite; Key Risk Indicators; and Governance.
  • To support and drive the third party risk management framework within the business. 
  • To facilitate the risk assessment and reporting processes whilst delivering high quality management information through a range of risk management systems and tools.
  • To provide advice, training and support to managers in the management of the Company’s risk exposures.
  • To establish appropriate risk-based controls and KPI’s as appropriate in line with our principles and culture.
  • Build strong & trusted relationships within the business to create a culture of risk awareness and compliance.
  • Support the Business in risk based due diligence activities for clients and suppliers 
  • Assist projects to secure industry accreditations such as ISO 27001.
  • Keeping abreast of changes to industry standards, regulations and best practice.

Required skills and experience:

  • A proven knowledge of risk / compliance, having gained sufficient relevant experience within the financial services sector in risk, compliance, legal or regulatory functions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of building processes, controls and frameworks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex topics to non-expert audiences and ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Educated to degree level and working toward suitable professional qualifications.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced commercial environment.

Beneficial skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of data protection (e.g. GDPR) and financial services regulations. 
  • Experience working with a risk/compliance system or tool.
  • Experience of a commercial background.
  • A professional qualification (or working towards) in risk management or similar.
