About The Job

  • Insurable Risk are a Group Function protecting assets & enabling growth by identifying key risks, setting policy & governance, promoting programmatic risk management, efficient risk financing & claims resolution

The Role

  • Support the Head of Insurable Risk by identifying, analysing and financing insurable risks and managing claims
  • Working within a diverse and dynamic team providing support and solutions across the group
  • Providing the opportunity for a qualified risk manager to progress their career at one of the leading global retailers

Main Responsibilities

  • Devise and lead the liability and motor risk management process including risk control and claims management
  • Manage external suppliers in the delivery of the liability and motor claims handling contract
  • Devise and lead other lines of cover including: marine, travel, crime, travel and personal accident
  • Liaise with the captive and external insurers on all matters of policy cover including regular meetings with lead insurers
  • Provide support and advice to the business on self-insured losses and claims management procedures
  • Provide advice on contractual risk management
  • To act as the insurance contact for One Europe Retail Business, Fleet Management International Sourcing

Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Appropriate insurance experience from either a broker, insurer or other in-house function
  • Experience of working on global programmes
  • Experience of managing or supporting external service providers
  • Knowledge of insurance and indemnity clauses
  • Insurance or Risk Management qualification
  • Self-motivating and able to innovate
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Desirable

  • Experience of retail claims
  • Exposure to captive insurance arrangements and/or other self-insured provisions
  • Simple communicator and strong report writing skills
