As an Insurable Risk Manager you will have a great chance to join our corporate headquarters based in Derby to support the Head of Group Insurance by maintaining the Group's insurance programmes and providing advice and guidance to all businesses within the Rolls-Royce Group and associated companies.

Please note that the role is on a part-time working week basis.

Key accountabilities

  • Mitigate the insurable and uninsurable risks of the global businesses by providing advice and specific training with respect to insurance requirements within commercial contracts, applicability of insurance cover, and compliance with the terms and conditions of the global insurance policies so that policies are not invalidated.
  • Develop risk and insurance training packages and deliver to the business as required.
  • Report and provide regular feedback to the Head of Group Insurance and wider Group Insurance team on significant issues affecting the Group.
  • Partner with external service providers including Insurers and Brokers in order to maintain day to day operational excellence.
  • Develop and deploy initiatives that improve internal Insurance processes that enhance effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Assist the Head of Group Insurance with the renewal of the Group's insurance programmes. This includes collection of renewal data, interpretation, validation and analysis.
  • Manage the service provider contracts.
  • Support the Insurable Risk Specialist-Finance with the department's financial accountabilities and maintain or develop to finance 'best practice'.
  • Assist in the periodic re-marketing of service providers and insurance programmes.
  • Lead the business to develop risk exposure profiles which facilitates the placement of global insurance programs e.g. new developing risk and insurance products (e.g. Cyber Risk, Ship Repairers Liability) and adequacy of insurance limits ;Assist Mergers & Acquisitions in the due diligence processes, and assist with deployment of the insurance strategy as it applies to acquisitions, disposals, Joint Ventures and other associated companies of the Group.
  • Assist where necessary the Group Insurance Claims & Property Risk Manager in support of the claims process and Property Risk matters as well as assist and work with the other Risk Function departments as necessary (e.g. Business Continuity Management, Travel Security).
  • Where required by the Head of Group Insurance, directly manage other team members as necessary, deputise for the Head of Group Insurance both internally and externally where necessary.

Qualifications/experience

  • Risk management background.
  • Effective communication and can work on own initiative.
  • Desirable Insurance Industry knowledge.
