Job Purpose/Role

Based in London or working from home and reporting directly to the UK Property Risk Consulting Manager, you will be responsible for providing property related Risk Consulting Services and /or Account Engineering management for AGCS’s large corporate clients in the UK. You will support clients and underwriters by conducting on-site engineering visits to the facilities of existing and prospective clients and maintain professional working relationships with Clients, Underwriting, Market Management, Claims, and Brokers.

Key Risk Consulting and Account Engineering Responsibilities

Risk Assessments

  • Complete desk top reviews and risk assessments (pre & post loss) for underwriting evaluating and summarising exposures and controls

Consulting Services

  • Work with underwriting, claims, clients and brokers where appropriate to develop customised loss control programmes including locations to be surveyed (or included as part of continuing service), scope and cost of risk consulting services

Client Management

  • Manage clients risk engineering portfolios in line with Allianz procedures, and set the strategy to deliver maximum benefit to clients and underwriters. Use global matrix management to deliver and monitor the engineering services, including report review and client presentations

Services Guidance

  • Generate and review required reports and recommendations. Meet reporting deadlines in accordance with departmental performance objectives

Survey Analysis

  • Survey client operations, obtain appropriate data, identify hazards and discuss findings with appropriate parties. Generate loss control reports, recommendations etc.

3rd Party Support

  • Appoint / monitor 3rd parties ensuring adequate contract / controls in place with budgets agreed up front. Check and ensure quality of work provided by 3rd parties

Projects

  • Assist AGCS and clients with respect to ongoing or specific projects. Support technical training presentations for internal and external clients as required and appropriate

Innovation

  • Actively support continual client service improvement and contribute to management strategy aimed at improving working practices, risk quality and new concepts to benefit clients and underwriting.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s degree / diploma in other coursework will be considered in conjunction with extensive engineering/technical experience)
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Loss Prevention Engineer in the Property sector
  • Sound knowledge of technical loss control topics
  • Strong communication skills, in English: ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally
  • Self-starter: able to develop and implement initiatives with minimum input from Management
  • Strategic mind-set; future focussed
  • Experience working in a complex global matrix organisation and excellent team spirit
  • Able to travel on a regular basis, mostly within the UK but some international trips
