The Global Risk Management (GRM) team is responsible for all Jacobs global and local insurance placements and self insurance arrangements as well as insurance claims and supporting the business in new business opportunities and contract negotiations.  

We now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic risk and insurance professional to be part of this exciting success story and join Jacobs Global Risk Management team.  This Senior Risk Analyst role will be based in Glasgow and will work closely with colleagues in Legal, Sales and Operations playing a critical role contract reviews, claims management, insurance renewals and supporting internal clients in the UK and Europe but also internationally.

 Job Description:

  • Reviews and evaluates insurance obligations in client contracts and joint venture agreements and develops and reviews supplier obligations. 
  • Supports the insurance program in the UK, Europe and elsewhere as required, including the renewal of annual policies and the placement of project specific programs.
  • Develops and manages GRM’s risk management information system.
  • Evaluates losses and potential liabilities to develop and provide notice to insurers.
  • Analyses claim information to ensure timely, comprehensive and accurate reporting of matters to insurers.
  • Coordinates and manages communications with underwriters, brokers and external vendors.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as the business may require.
  • Minimum Education:
  • University or College Degree in a related subject
  • Evidence of continuing education (i.e. industry designations) desired.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in insurance/risk management, gained with an international broker, insurer or through an in-house risk management role. 
  • Advanced understanding of insurance principles.
  • Motivated and happy contributing to the team but also able to work independently as needed.
  • Able to define, analyse and effectively solve problems, seeking guidance as necessary.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and able to advise and influence.
  • Detail orientated and able to produce timely and accurate work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience in the use of software to build reports and analyze data. 
  • Discharges responsibilities with integrity and the highest standards of professionalism.
